Many things have happened since I started this blog, and its purpose has evolved over the past year quite considerably. It has turned into my bitch and rant site, which is ok. Many of my rants and diatribes concern politics and as a keen gun owner, I tend to focus on second amendment issues. I am also a libertarian so I have a tendency to rail against the democrats and republicans for their many disasters and bad judgment.
But the blog is more than that. I am also a big geek, and so many of my technical ideas are put here. In addition, I am also a business owner. I recently started my own company and just so that I don’t scare any customers and clients I’ll not be posting links to it here, I’ll be keeping that separate but from time to time might comment on current events that have an impact on my business and my income.
With respect to firearms, I hold a Georgia Firearms License and an FFL03 - Curios and Relics license. The former allows me to carry a firearm, concealed or openly, and the latter allows me to collect firearms, and have then delivered to my door without the usual paperwork. (Essentially I am pre-approved to buy certain collectible firearms but not to engage in commerce).
Some of my posts are about the UK. I was born in the UK, and lived there for the first 30-something years of my life. Then in 2000, I had the great fortune to be able to get a green card, and move the USA. Since then, I have moved more times than I like to think about, I have lived in Texas and Georgia, in apartments and houses, and even a trailer, but have finally settled on a small 5 acre horse farm in north Georgia.
I became a US citizen in January of 2008, and I enjoy all my rights as a citizen. As well as a being a geek and gun owner, I have an interest in self sufficiency and survivalism. I’m not talking about the ‘living in a bunker after WWIII’ but more the day to day survivalism, having the right tools for the job, and planning for disasters like katrina and other catastrophic events.
